With the Most Recent Software Update, Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro Users can Enjoy all of the Advertised Features
Next week, Google will begin shipping its newly-announced Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones, and after you finish setting up yours, you’ll have to install a software update to get all of the advertised features, including Magic Eraser..
New firmware SD1A.210817.036.A8 for Verizon customers and SD1A.210817.036 for the rest of the world is included in this build. To manually check for updates, go to Settings > System > System update on your phone and follow the on-screen instructions. If the update doesn’t download automatically after device setup is complete, you’ll need to do so manually.
Because of “deployment timelines and staged rollouts, some updates may not be available until 10/28,” Google says that if you receive your Pixel 6 before that date, you will not be able to download the update.
These phones both use Google’s own Tensor chip, but the Pixel 6 Pro has an improved screen, a better selfie camera, a telephoto lens, and a larger battery. UWB is supported on the Pro model as well.
