The Snapdragon 898-powered Samsung Galaxy S22+ Performs Well in Geekbench Tests

Here’s another Geekbench scorecard for the SM-S906U, a US version of the Samsung Galaxy S22+, which has a Snapdragon 898 processor. Clock speeds of 3.0 GHz for Cortex-X2 and A710, and 1.8 GHz for A510 were used in the chipset’s operation.

The 898-powered Galaxy Tab S8+ managed a higher score, but the results are inconsistent, which is to be expected with pre-release hardware and software. Even though Qualcomm will announce its new flagship chipset on November 30 and phones with the 898 may arrive a month later, there is still time to fine-tune things.

 

There was a previous S22+ Geekbench test, but the results were useless because the Exynos 2200-powered S22+ had a power-saving governor enabled. Android 12 and 8 GB of RAM will be the standard configuration on both phones.

However, the results from the SM-S901U (vanilla S22) are suspiciously low, so they are not included here. Even though newer chipsets use ARMv9, the software may not yet have been updated to take advantage of this new technology.
