New Rumours Suggest Xiaomi 12 will Debut on December 12th
What does it signify that the year is coming to a close? No, we’re not referring to the “Christmas shopping season” or “Black Friday”. On November 30, Qualcomm will reveal its newest flagship processor, and then the race is on for the first phone to be revealed with it at the helm.
According to a recent rumor out of China, the Xiaomi 12’s launch date has been set for this year. While it’s unclear which one of Lenovo-owned Motorola and Xiaomi will “win” this dubious competition (although not made public yet).
Since it is 12/12, 12/12, and all things symmetrical, it will be December 12. If the original plan had been to hold the event on Dec. 16, then it would have been an event on Dec. 16. If this works out, the unveiling will take place on December 12th, which is a Sunday. It’s a little strange, but it’s fine.
According to one recent rumor, the Xiaomi 12X would be unveiled at the same time as the Xiaomi 12. A 12-Ultra is nearly guaranteed to arrive in 2022, but don’t hold your breath for it just yet.
According to rumor, the Xiaomi 12 will have a “2K” curved screen with a hole-punch for the front camera, 120 Hz refresh rate, dual speakers, and a triple back camera system with a 50MP primary sensor from Samsung or Sony. Additionally, a 120W fast charger and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor are both viable options.
The Xiaomi 12 will almost certainly ship with MIUI 13 out of the box, and that update will almost certainly be unveiled alongside the Xiaomi 12 at the same event. Even still, wouldn’t it be better if the MIUI 13 unveiling was held a day later? That’s when we’re tinkering with numbers.
