MediaTek has introduced the new and improved Dimensity 9000+, which boasts increased performance and enhanced ISP
New and improved, MediaTek‘s flagship chipset has been revealed. We’re excited to release the Dimensity 9000+, which improves upon the original in a few key ways. Not only has the processing power been increased by 5%, but the graphics performance by 10%, and the image signal processor and 5G modem have also been enhanced.
Building on the success of our first flagship 5G chipset, the DImenisty 9000+ ensures that device makers always have access to the most advanced high-performance features and the latest mobile technologies, making it possible for their top-tier smartphones to stand out.” – Dr. Yenchi Lee, Deputy General Manager of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Business Unit
The high-performance Cortex-X2 core in the Dimensity 9000+ has been upgraded from 3.05GHz to 3.2GHz. The same 1+3+4 configuration with three high-performance Cortex-A710 cores and four low-power Cortex-A510 cores is retained. It uses a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU, which has been enhanced.
The Imagiq 790 from MediaTek can record 18-bit HDR video from all three cameras at once. It can process 9 gigapixels per second and can handle still images up to 320 megapixels. AI-enhanced noise reduction is also available for 4K HDR video.
Using 3CC carrier aggregation, the 5G modem’s downlink speeds are increased to up to 7Gbps. WDHD+ displays with 144Hz or 180Hz at FHD, and Wi-Fi displays supporting up to 4K60 for HDR video, are supported in addition to Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and MediaTek’s MiraVision 790.
MediaTek says the Dimensity 9000+ will be available in smartphones by the third quarter of 2022.
