Leica-branded Camera Will be Included in the Xiaomi 12 Ultra

It was previously reported that the Huawei-Leica partnership had ended, and that the photography brand was looking for new long-term partners. Honor and Xiaomi were both mentioned in early rumors, and at least half of them were correct.

According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Leica has already struck a deal with Xiaomi so that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra’s camera lenses will bear the Leica brand. The phone is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2022, which is a little later than the standard release date for the Xiaomi 12 series.

However, we can expect some color filters and input regarding overall processing, even if Leica’s contributions to the camera setup are currently unclear. As soon as we learn more, we’ll let you know.
