As per reports, Qualcomm may make the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ official as soon as the end of May
As soon as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip was announced, rumors started swirling about a mythical “+” version that would be built on TSMC’s 4nm node rather than Samsung’s, fueling speculation that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ would perform better because it would be less likely to overheat and throttle its performance than the non-Plus version.
An authoritative source tells us that a date has been set for the unveiling of the new SoC in May. It’s reasonable to assume that the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ phones will be unveiled before the end of May and will be available in June if this plan works out. It includes Lenovo and Motorola, as well as OnePlus and Xiaomi, as the initial clients.
The SM8450 model number of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 indicates that Qualcomm expects the 8 Gen 1+ to be a significant improvement over its predecessor.
At the same time, new 7-series processors will be released, and like the 8 Gen 1+, these are already in the hands of smartphone companies for testing and preparing for product launches.
