Activision Blizzard is Reportedly Singled Out in a Memo from the PlayStation Boss
As a result of the Wall Street Journal’s shocking report on Activision Blizzard, PlayStation leadership has inquired about Activision’s plans to respond to the allegations. By way of an email, Sony CEO Jim Ryan reportedly informed PlayStation employees of the plan.
“We outreached to Activision immediately after the article was published to express our deep concern and to ask how they plan to address the claims made in the article,” Ryan wrote, reports Bloomberg. “We do not believe their statements of response properly address the situation.”
Sony and Activision Blizzard did not respond to a request for comment. Ask Microsoft and Nintendo to tell Activision Blizzard about their concerns.
An investigation into the culture of sexual harassment and discrimination at Activision Blizzard has been ongoing for several months now. CEO Bobby Kotick took a significant pay cut and Activision Blizzard made some changes, such as ending forced arbitration and adopting a zero-tolerance harassment policy. However, according to the WSJ, Kotick has been aware of allegations of sexual misconduct at the company for years and has a history of harassing and abusive behavior of his own.
